Cerro de la Selva and the new P600 Morrón del Rivazuelo

Walk Summary
The days target summit was Cerro de la Selva and with a prominence of 621m was currently listed as one of the 185 Spain/Portugal peaks with more than 600m of prominence. Taking a southerly route from Zarzadilla de Totana along the recently restored PR-MU 102 and aptly named Sendero del Cerro de la Selva seemed to confirm it was the most prominent peak in the area. One of the first things you see is the cliff face on southern aspect of Morrón de Rivazuelo, which you inevitably think is the target top but know from experience to be a false summit. The path takes you round the west side of Rivazuelo to Collado del Sudador where you then get sight of the 1491m spot height. This time I did think it was the summit as at this time I had not noticed the spot height value. It appeared lower than Morrón de Rivazuelo, which of course it is, but at this time I thought it should be higher. Checking IGN Mapas de España I was surprised to see that there were 3 spot heights along the Morrón de Rivazuelo at 1529m, 8m higher than Cerro de la Selva. I still went to Cerro de la Selva first from where I could see the two NE1529m spot heights to the SW. Impossible to gauge relative height so I dropped a way point and decided to return via Morrón de Rivazuelo ridge expecting a bit of a bushwhack. Fortunately there is a vague path over all three 1529m spot heights on the ridge each of which I dropped a waypoint. The middle 1529m spot heightt appeared to be the highest and is also the one the locals have bothered to add a proper summit marker along with height info. Waypoints confirm all three spot heights are higher than Cerro de la Selva and that the middle one is the highest. Unable to check col details as am on the road and don't have a large screen however I presume the col would be the same giving Morrón de de Rivazuelo (Sierra de Pedro Ponse). I added the new summit to Peakbagger.com and Morrón de de Rivazuelo has now been adopted as the P600 with a prominence of 636m replacing Cerro de Selva.
